FEMA online courses

The Emergency Management Institute (EMI) offers self-paced courses designed for people who have emergency management responsibilities and the general public. All are offered free-of-charge to those who qualify for enrollment. To get a complete listing of courses.

NFA

National Fire Academy online courses

Online learning is a terrific option if you want to take National Fire Academy (NFA) classes. Our online self-study and mediated courses are free to fire and emergency services personnel, and international students are welcome. Continuing Education Units (CEUs) are available for most courses. Successful completion is added to your NFA transcript, and you earn an NFA certificate.

 
CDP

Center for Domestic Preparedness

The mission of the CDP is to identify, develop, test and deliver training to state, local and tribal emergency response providers; provide on-site and mobile training at the performance, management and planning levels; and facilitate the delivery of training by the training partners of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security

 

EMRTC

Energetic Materials Research and Testing Center

The Energetic Materials Research and Testing Center is a research division of New Mexico Tech, which performs testing of high explosives, bombs, and other munitions, as well as the means to deliver such munitions. It also offers courses for emergency responders in bomb response.

SERTC

Security and Emergency Response Training Center (SERTC)

Our original mission was to train railroad officials to safely handle accidents involving tank cars carrying hazardous materials. The training proved to be so successful that attendance was opened up to other emergency responders. 

TEEX

TEEX

Providing awareness level training in a broad range of topics from HazMat and Basic EMS/Mass Prophylaxis to Cybersecurity. Awareness level training is designed to provide a basic understanding of the topic, and in some cases, serve as the pre-requisite training for more advanced training.

NCBRT

National Center for Biomedical Research and Training 

NCBRT is a DHS training partner providing high-quality training to emergency responders throughout the United States and its territories under DHS’s Homeland Security National Training Program. Preparedness is a shared, national responsibility requiring our active participation to prepare America to address its threats.

NDPTC

National Disaster Preparedness Training Center

The NDPTC is a member of the National Domestic Preparedness Consortium (NDPC), which was expanded in 2007 to address all-hazards capabilities by the addition of the University of Hawai`i. The NDPTC is authorized to develop and deliver training and educational programs related to homeland security and disaster management, with a specific focus on natural hazards, coastal communities, and the special needs and opportunities of islands and territories. 

CTOS

Center for Radiological Nuclear Training

Courses are funded through DHS/FEMA’s Homeland Security National Training Program and are offered at no cost. E-learning’s convenient access is perfect for initial, just-in-time, and refresher training, providing information and exercises designed to meet requirements for continued education and skill progression.
